Karl-Ludwig Ackermann was one of the pioneers of implantology. His clinical and scientific career spanned more than 40 years. During this period, he made a significant contribution to the development of dentistry altogether. Sharing and expanding knowledge was one of his great passions. His professional excellence, high theoretical and practical understanding and his enthusiasm for teaching implantology have shaped generations. He shared his experiences at countless courses and congresses and was a highly esteemed speaker and author both nationally and internationally.
Karl-Ludwig Ackermann was one of Camlog’s trailblazers and influenced the development of our implant systems for more than 20 years. He performed as a speaker for Camlog from the 1990s onward. He always focused on the team concept and the synergy of the disciplines of implantology, periodontology and implant prosthetics. For several years and with great commitment he brought his great wealth of experience to our scientific advisory board. Throughout the years, he maintained his great thirst for knowledge as well as his curiosity and was always an invaluable and close advisor to us.
In addition to his work as an outstanding expert, Karl-Ludwig Ackermann was above all a fatherly friend and companion during our journey together. His dedication was tireless, he had an open ear for everyone, no matter who asked him, and was always fully at the service of the cause. His empathy and charisma were unique.
His sudden death has created a great technical, but above all, human void in both the world of implantology as well as in our daily lives.
Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife and family.
„Acki“, your Camlog family will miss you terribly. Thank you for everything that you have done for us. For countless conversations; countless happy moments. For your laugh, your closeness, your warmth. We have lost a true role model. You will always have a special place in our hearts and will remain unforgotten.
